CRUISE PROGRAM

1st day:

  • Arrival at the Athens International Airport ” Eleftherios Venizelos”.
  • Boarding the coach and touring around the the historical center of Athens.
  • Guided tour of the Acropolis.
  • Guided tour of the Acropolis Museum.
  • Arrival and settling on the boat “DIVA”

2nd day:

  • Departure from the port of Piraeus and arrival at Aegina, the island of rich natural beauty and long history. The island dates back to the Neolithic era and has played an active role during all the important periods of ancient and modern Greece. This is where the foundations of the Greek Government were laid. The first National bank, library, mint, archaeological museum and child protection institution were founded there. After St. Nectarios’ burial, it has been the major center of the Christian Orthodox faith. It is also famous for the pistachio trees cultivated there.
  • A guided tour at one of the most important “living” monuments of the ancient civilization, namely the temple of  Aphaea Athena is included.
  • After some free time at your disposal we will return to the boat where we will spend the night.

3rd day:

  • Arrival at the port of Epidaurus.
  • Departure to Mycenae and Nemea.
  • A guided tour to the “golden”town where the famous Mycenaean civilization was developed will take place. You will be able to explore and admire Agamemnon’s palace, the famous Lion Gate and the vaulted tombs. Our next stop is Nemea. It is a famous center of the antiquity because of the mythical lion that Theseus killed. Its local types of wine are well known all over the country. You will have the opportunity to visit the archaeological site of the town as well as the local winery.
  • Departure and overnight stay on the boat.

4th day:

  • Our day will start with a visit to the most important center of the Greek and Roman civilization, the Asklipieio, the place of worship of the god of Medicine, Asclepius. Here is where Medicine was born. Patients from all over the Mediterranean came here. The site was huge and included guest houses, a gym, a stadium, a sanctuary and the famous for its exceptional acoustics theater built to entertain the patients.  According to the historian Pausanias the theater was built and designed in 340 B.C. by the architect Polycleitos at a green gorge. It is considered to be the most beautiful and well-preserved “living” theater in the world boasting a perfect symmetry. It can accommodate 13,000 people. Its excellent acoustics and its very good condition are the reasons why it is still in use nowadays. The events of the famous festival of Epidaurus take place here.
  • We will depart in the afternoon and sail to the island of Poros. The town is amphitheatrically built on two hills. Its famous landmark and point of interest  is the historical clock. There is an archaeological museum, the remains of the ancient temple of god Poseidon and the impressive monastery of Zoodochos Pigi, where there is a library hosting a rare collection of ecclesiastical, service books.    

5th day:

Arrival and overnight stay at the island of Spetses. Spetses is considered the island of the Captains.  By the port visitors can find the horse- drawn carriages waiting in line to take them around the pine tree forests found everywhere on the island. It is an island rich in history and unique architecture. On the 2nd of  September, every year, St.Mamas is celebrated. During the celebration local customs such as the throwing of   hand- made little boats in the water by young children take place.  On the first weekend after the 8th of the same month the famous “Armata” celebration also takes place. It is a  spectacular representation of the famous Spetses ship battle  that attracts many visitors from all over the country.

6th day:

Arrival and overnight stay at the island of Hydra. This is one of the most cosmopolitan islands of Greece, perched on a gray rock, with impressive mansions and tasteful places selling clothes and food. It is the only island where vehicles are banned and people move around as they used to do in the past, i.e. on foot or donkeys.

It has a historic museum and the famous event “Miaoulia” takes place at the last weekend of June. It is a favourite sailing destination and yaughting paradise .

7th day:

Arrival and overnight stay at Aegina. You will have plenty of time to explore the port-town and visit the Mint, the State House, The Church of Saint Nektarios etc.

8th day:

Arrival at Alimos.

Full of rich experiences we arrive at Alimos and head back to the airport of “Eleftherios Venizelos”.
